Lead Abatement

Certified Coating Specialists Inc. (CCS) is committed to the protection of its employees, other trades working on site and the environment during lead and other toxic material abatement processes.

The removal of industrial and marine coatings is one of the leading generators of lead waste. Lead has been designated a toxic substance and is therefore hazardous waste, defined and regulated by the Federal and Provincial Environmental Protection Act and Waste Management Regulations.

In accordance with the Canadian Environmental Protection Act and OSHA regulations, the owner/generator of the hazardous waste is responsible for all aspects of management of hazardous waste, from identification to appropriate disposal. This is where a lead abatement program comes into play. The protection of people and the environment requires effective, knowledge based planning and controlled removal of hazardous waste.

CCS has the expertise through trained and certified leadership, manpower and specialized equipment to execute any sized lead abatement project, in the most cost effective, safe and timely manner.
