Managing Today’s Complexities
The painting/coatings industry today, especially the application of high performance coatings, demands far more forethought and strategic planning than ever before. The complexity of the latest generation chemistries, the available options for surface preparation, the mobilization of large equipment, and the demands of an effective safe work plan must be considered for all projects. In addition, environmental impact potentials and risk management, quality control, waste management and schedule development are all aspects of a properly planned and professionally executed coating project.
The range of chemistry options available today can be overwhelming for those who must rely on the advice of sales people or consultants that do not have specific education or experience in the coatings field. Surface preparation has gone well beyond traditional sanding or abrasive blasting to the use of ultra high pressure water jetting, electrical induction and chemical stripping, to name but a few options.
Safe work, environmental stewardship and quality control, each of which must be managed as an independent discipline, require project specific planning, effective communication, training, plan implementation, testing, ongoing monitoring and subsequent documentation of performance results. In addition, access, containment, atmospheric controls and waste management, often critical components of the process, all demand sound planning and management.
To represent oneself as a professional, high performance coating contractor today, CCS believes a company must invest extensively in staff education and training. This ensures that when called upon to advise, create or execute a project CCS can respond rapidly, correctly and effectively.
The application of the paint is the easy part of this business. Doing it safely, to specification, over a properly prepared substrate and in accordance with all associated regulations, while providing the best aesthetic results, takes a dedicated team of professionals of diverse disciplines.

Professionalism in Consulting
At CCS we work frequently with asset owners and general contractors requiring and seeking assistance well beyond the application of a coating system. Often we are called upon to advise on such matters as challenge delineation, solution option identification, specification creation, project planning, costing/budgeting, overall project management, quality control/quality assurance, report generation, job performance analysis and recommendations.
Backing up your Statements
At CCS we believe in allowing ourselves to be judged by what we do over what anyone says ,while some of our competitors are willing to say anything to land a contract.
We state we are one of the Safest industrial coating contractors in the business today and support this statement by being able to prove we have well over 350,000 worked man hours without any form of reportable lost time accident.
We state that Environmental Stewardship is important to us and support this statement by carrying $2,000,000 in pollution Liability Insurance that has never been called into action to date. As far as leadership at CCS is aware our company is the only one in our trade that offers this level of environmental commitment to our customers.
CCS always offers a warranty to our customers and further welcomes the opportunity to partake in annual inspections of the assets we are contracted to protect. CCS has not had a warranty claim filed on an anniversary in the last five years, to leaderships recollection. CCS bonds well over 50% of our annual work and never has anyone had to issue a claim against our bonding.
CCS has the team. We have the pre-established programs. We have the track record. We have the bonding and insurance ability. We back up our commitments and are therefore prepared when called on to act as a general contractor of a coating project or to make a substantial contribution to a team as a sub contractor on multi discipline projects.
