As a SSPC-QP1 Certified Coatings Applicator for Complex Structures (one of only five in Canada), Certified Coating Specialists Inc. meets the primary tender qualification of both the Provincial and Federal Transportation Ministries for the painting of bridges. To further support bridge rehabilitation, CCS has three management team members that have been certified as Lead Abatement Supervisors, as well as, three members that are NACE Certified and two Certified CSO’s. All work crew members receive extensive safety training associated with elevated bridge work. In addition, CCS has assembled a comprehensive Lead Abatement Manual covering all applicable Provincial and Federal Regulations. This manual is available to CCS customers.

In 2006, CCS was awarded by Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), the lead abatement, surface preparation and four coat paint application contract for reconditioning the federally owned LIARD RIVER BRIDGE. The last SUSPENSION BRIDGE on the Alaska Highway. Project completion required two seasons and was achieved without any safety or environmental issues. Both the PWGSC Project Manager and coating system inspector congratulated CCS on a job well done. (Contact names available upon request.)

CCS has the skill set and equipment to meet any form of abrasive blast specification to deliver a 20-25 year coating life expectation.

CCS has the experience and certifications to work efficiently with customers to develop comprehensive lead abatement, environmental stewardship, quality control, traffic management plans, and safe work programs specific to any bridge project. CCS has the proven in-house ability to provide scaffold and shrink wrap containment.

CCS often works with general contractors to support their efforts for small scale lead abatement and spot coating.
